Each book builds on the previous one & includes the prior book's characters. I NEED to know what happens next! Yes, I could read all of the series now, but, as I said, Jeffrey Kafer really makes this series come to life even more than just reading it. I thought that Damien & Nicole's story was exciting but Jared & Tessa built on the series like a great musical piece and blew me away! The anticipation of book 3 is painful. I'm greedy in anticipation for the remainder of this series. Teresa Gabelman hit a "home run" with this series. Two books into a series of 7 (+1 in the making) of The Protectors series & I am totally addicted. Worth a credit? Strong willed Heroine and a love-love-loveable charming Hero who had great chemistry between them and funny witty and sexy interactions, good secondary characters and an action-packed continuation of the storyline that has twists, surprises and heartwarming romantic scenes makes this a 'straight through' listen as I just couldn't stop listening. Various POV's all brilliantly done by the sexy deep voice of Jeffry Kafer who made the book come alive. which annoys, intrigues, fascinates and amuses the Hell out of Jared, along with the red headed beauty who carried it out. So they cleverly, efficiently and successfully storm the compound to steal Chad from under the very noses of the Warriors. The trouble comes when bar worker Tessa, who would do anything for her brother who has been viciously turned into a half-breed against his will, along with many other teenagers, and they think Chad knows who did it. Chad is being interrogated by The Protectors as they're sure he holds the answers to many of their who and why questions but the trouble is Damon just wants to rip his head off for endangering his mate Nicole (story in book 1).
This books starts where the last one left off. However, there's the same witty banter, the same 'brotherhood' feeling, the same 'they'll do anything to protect their mate' and, of course, they're all sexy, hunky and 'take no sh*t' Vampires. J R Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, no it's not quite as good but it's still early days into this series. It reminds me of my absolute favorite vampire series. I loved, loved, loved absolutely everything about this second instalment into The Protectors series about a group of very Alpha Vampire males and the trouble they find themselves caught up in. IT BLEW ME AWAY & LEFT ME WANTING MORE MORE MORE
